Travelling the world of particle physics

my name is Alessia Saggio and I’m very pleased to be the selected PhD student of the AMVA4NewPhysics network at Université Catholique de Louvain. I studied at the University of Catania (Italy) where I took the Bachelor’s degree in Physics in November 2013 and a Master’s degree in Particle Physics in October 2015.

Correct-Coverage Unfolding

Yesterday Mikael Kuusela gave a well-attended seminar at the Department of Statistical Sciences of the University of Padova. Mikael is a member of the AMVA4NewPhysics network and is about to obtain his doctorate in Statistics at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) under the advisory of Victor Panaretos.

This is the first post of the blog “AMVA4NewPhysics”, and as goes with all “post 0” articles, it is not supposed to offer much content. Nevertheless, let me have a shot at that. My name is Tommaso Dorigo and I am the coordinator of the network. My goal for today is to explain who we are, what we do, and what kind of articles we wish to publish here in the next four years.
